Mark Knechtel named 2008 recipient of the W.W. Wood Award


Dr. Mark Knechtel, Head of the Division of Prosthodontics, has been selected as the 2008 recipient of the W.W. Wood Award for Teaching Excellence in Dental Education. Awarded for excellence in teaching through course and instructional evaluation by
demonstrating of comprehensive knowledge of the subject area;
  • habitually well prepared for teaching sessions, be they lectures, laboratories, seminars, tutorials or clinic;
  • enthusiasm for their subject and capacity to arouse interest among students;
  • encouraging student participation;
  • setting high standards of student involvement and performance and successfully motivating students to attain these standards;
  • communicating effectively with students;  and
  • is accessible to students outside of class hours and provides reasonable access to all.
