New Dress Code Policy for the Dental Clinic

Clinic Director, Dr. Blaine Cleghorn and DDS4 student Carla Sherman model the new clinic attire.
In an effort to improve infection control, safety and acceptable dress code standards a new dress code policy has been adopted by the Faculty of Dentistry.

The new dress code policy, which went into effect on August 18th, 2008, requires Dental and Dental Hygiene students to wear blue scrub bottoms and tops in all clinics and pre-clinical laboratories.

Students, Clinical Faculty and Clinic Support Staff must wear white, long sleeved clinic jackets while participating in patient care activities.  The jackets are embroidered with the Faculty of Dentistry logo, and the wearer's name, so that patients can easily identify their caregivers.

The Faculty provides a laundering service for clinic jackets. Soiled jackets are picked up daily for cleaning, clean jackets are sorted alphabetically and stored in a new jacket storage room which was recently constructed for this purpose.

Shoes with closed toes and socks or stockings must be worn at all times in the clinic.
