Being a dentist is more than just a job for Dr. Hal Carmichael. It’s his life.
Since graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry in 1979, Dr. Carmichael has had a successful career. He happily practices in Bridgewater, NS at the Bridgewater Mall Family Dental Centre. He also teaches part-time in the Faculty.
Dr. Carmichael attributes the success of his practice, and his life, to the time he spent here at Dal. “Whatever I give as an alumnus to Dalhousie Dentistry is but a small thank you for the tremendous gift given to me by the Faculty,” says Dr. Carmichael, “a gift which has enriched my life and that of my family for the past 30 years.”
In October 2007, Dr. Carmichael’s generosity was recognized when he was welcomed into the Dean’s Circle – a program established to recognize donors who have made significant financial contributions specifically to the Faculty.
Dr. Carmichael has continued his annual donations with his lifetime giving totaling more than $50,000. His latest donation of $10,000 will aid in the much-needed purchase of 25 new x-ray heads, replacing the current 30 year old x-ray heads.
The Faculty of Dentistry graciously thanks Dr. Carmichael for his ongoing support.
