In Memoriam: Dr. Elaine Carey, DDS'00
Dr. Theresa Elaine Carrey passed away September 19, 2009, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Mary Corbett (Walsh) and the late Frank Carey. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Elaine. Elaine was a determined, passionate person who carried these qualities with her in every aspect of her life. A graduate of Dalhousie School of Dentistry, Elaine built a successful dental practice in Spryfield and in spite of her illness continued to care for her patients with the utmost professionalism, compassion and grace. A steadfast supporter of the SPCA, Metro Shelter, Elaine devoted much of her time to the care of animals especially her adopted dogs Lou and Brannie. Elaine enjoyed life to the fullest and had many interests traveling, shopping enjoying good red wine and most of all spending time at her camp in Wentworth and fly-fishing in the Margaree. She is survived by her husband, Brent; stepchildren,
Jake, Sam and Sophie; sister, Diane; brothers, Mark (Lorraine), Earl (Jill), Robert (Maria), David and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Donald Sutherland officiating. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA - Metro Shelter. Burial will be held in Wentworth at a later date.
