Update on TOHAP Project
The Oral Health of our Aging Population (TOHAP), a province-wide survey of the oral health status and needs of Nova Scotians 45 and over, has just completed its data collection phase. Over the past year the survey team completed oral health surveys at 31 long term care facilities and 22 community sites in 30 different communities throughout Nova Scotia. A total of 330 long term care residents and 747 community residents were interviewed and examined. An additional 384 community residents were interviewed. We are now beginning the data analysis phase of the survey which will be conducted by a Masters student at the University of Toronto. We are eagerly anticipating the results of the analyses and looking forward to sharing the outcomes with our collaborators.
