Dalhousie Maxillofacial Surgeons Get National Press Coverage in Viet Nam

Dalhousie maxillofacial surgeons Drs David Precious, Reg Goodday, Archie Morrison and Ben Davis were the subject of newspaper articles in two large national Vietnamese language dailies on December 3 2009, in which the Dalhousie charity cleft lip surgery programme was described.
Thanh Nien is one of the most prestigious and influential daily newspapers in Vietnam with a total readership of over 2 million per week, making it one of the most widely circulated national newspapers.
Tuoi Tre is a major daily newspaper in Vietnam, publishing in Vietnamese from Ho Chi Minh City. Over recent years it has grown to become the largest newspaper in the country.
The Dalhousie group was joined by a team of Japanese doctors led by Takeshi Uchiyama as well as Vietnamese Drs Viet Le Thi and Kim. More than 50 cleft lip and palate operations were carried out in both Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long between November 23 and December 3 3009.
