International College of Dentists inducts Dalhousie Alumni

The International College of Dentists (ICD), Canadian Section, gathered at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto on Saturday May 15th for Convocation, welcoming new Fellows into the College. Those present at the Induction Ceremony with a Dalhousie Dentistry connection were new Fellows, Dr. Tom Boran (DDS 1978, present Dean of Dalhousie Dentistry), Dr. Blaine Cleghorn (Assistant Dean of Clinics, Dalhousie Dentistry), Dr. Paul Downing (DDS 1979) and Dr. Drew Smith (DDS 1993). Fellows Dr. Ian Doyle (DDS 1978, ICD Regent, Atlantic Canada), Dr. Eric Hatfield (DDS 1986), and Dr. William MacInnis (DDS 1970, former Dean, Dalhousie Dentistry, and President Elect ICD – Canadian Section) were also present. Dr. MacInnis, as incoming President, spoke to the Fellows regarding the International College of Dentists and his vision for the upcoming year.
This meeting of Dentists reinforced Dalhousie University, Faculty of Dentistry, as a Dental School with a strong history of service and academics, and a bright future.
