Three Faculty of Dentistry students braved a winter storm to present their research at the annual Health Trainee Research Day on Feb 2, 2011.

Marian Hynes presented a poster on "Incidence of Student Clinical Injuries Occurring at the Dalhousie Dental Clinic: A Ten-Year Review of Injury Reports"; research she conducted as part of the Faculty of Dentistry Summer Research Program under the supervision of Prof. Peggy Maillet.

Mary Ellen McCarvill presented her summer research project "Evaluation of Outcomes Following Changes to the TCC Program at Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry". Mary Ellen was also supervised by Prof. Peggy Maillet.

Alayna Parrott presented a poster titled "An Evaluation of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene Student Interprofessional Health Education Modules". Alayna conducted her summer research under the supervision of Prof. Nancy Neish and Dr. Cynthia Andrews.

Both Marian Hynes and Alayna Parrot were awarded an honourable mention for their poster presentations. Congratulations!

The Health Trainee Research Day is organized by the Integrated Health Trainee Partnership (IHRTP) and is an opportunity to showcase the research being conducted by students in the Faculties of Dentistry, Health Professions and Medicine.

Positions for the upcoming 2011 Faculty of Dentistry Summer Research Program will be announced in March.
