Following its completion, he travelled to Selangor, Malaysia to host a Dentistry alumni reception on January 29 at The Palace Of The Golden Horses. In the mid-1990s, Dalhousie University and the National University of Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which saw a dozen Malaysian students study in the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie, graduating between 1999 and 2002. Today, some of these individuals continue their post-graduate studies, others are working in private practice, and several are teaching at the university level in Malaysia – one as Associate Dean! We were pleased to learn that 11 of our 12 Malaysian alumni were able to join Dr. Canning at the event, where they shared stories and relived memories, heard greetings from Dentistry Dean Dr. Thomas Boran, and were also presented with their 10-year anniversary pins. Dr. Boran would like to thank Dr. Latifah Morad (DDS’99) and Dr. Nik Rosdy (DDS’01) for their efforts in organizing the event alongside Alumni Officer Jon Bruhm, as well as Dr. Canning for graciously hosting this happy reunion!
