Dr. Ronald Stewart Presents 4th Dr. J. D. McLean Lecture

Dr. Ronald Stewart shown receiving a certificate of thanks from Dean, Dr. David Precious, for his excellent lecture entitled "How I learned to Love Hollywood" November 15th, 2006. as the fourth Dr. James. D. McLean Lecture.

To an audience of approximately 200 students, faculty, staff and other guests Dr. Stewart provided entertainment, education and humour as he overviewed his experiences from Halifax to Neil's Harbour, Cape Breton to Los Angeles and Pittsburg developing his life long interest in emergency medicine as a specialty and the impact that TV and film had on his work.

Through example and real life situations he demonstrated how TV and film people and programs changed the way emergency medicine was perceived and provided to the public. He showed how important it was to understand the impact of the media in our lives, to learn how to communicate with media and how to have a healthy respect for what the media can do on an issue.

Dr. Stewart is an excellent speaker who engaged the audience throughout his presentation.
