How To Apply - US & International Applicants

International applicants may apply using ONE of the following two processes:

A.

  • Faculty of Dentistry application form may be downloaded from the website (link).   Submit the completed application form and application fee ($70.00 CDN) to the Office of the Registrar, Dahousie University, PO Box 15000 Halifax, Nova Scotia B3H 4R2 by December 1.
  • Submit an official transcript of all university studies (including first semester grades when available) to the Office of the Registrar.
  • Submit Dental Aptitude Test results directly from the American Dental Association or the Canadian Dental Association to the Admissions Coordinator, Dean's Office, Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University, PO Box 15000 Halifax, Nova Scotia B3H 4R2 by February 1 (may be later if completing the DAT in February).
  • Submit three confidential reference evaluation forms (part of the application package) to Admissions Coordinator by February 1.

B.

  • AADSAS:   Indicate that you are applying to Dalhousie University on your AADSAS application. Applicants who have completed the minimum academic requirements will be contacted and asked to submit the Dalhousie application form (see A above).
  • Submit the college advisory committee recommendation OR request the three confidential evaluation forms that are part of the Dalhousie application form   (see above) to the Admissions Coordinator.   Indicate on the forms that you are an International applicant.

Applicants are contacted by e-mail or regular mail once applications have been received, and information is provided on the process of the application.

Most admissions decisions are completed by June 15 of the year of admission, and early acceptances are normally granted in March. Applicants may be placed on an alternate or waiting list, and could be accepted from this list as late as the first week in September.

On notice of acceptance to the Faculty of Dentistry, applicants must deposit the sum of $2500.00 (CDN) to the Registrar before a specified date. This amount is credited toward tuition fees if the student registers, but is not refundable if the student withdraws.
