Call for Abstracts: IHRTP Graduate Student Research Day
The IHRTP is pleased to announce Graduate Student Research Day, to be held on Tuesday May 15, 2012. All students currently enrolled in a MasterŐs or PhD program in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry or Health Professions are invited to present their research with a poster or platform presentation. This is an opportunity for students to formally present their research to a panel of judges, in order to improve presentation style and content through expert feedback while finding out about other research happening in the community. Abstracts are due Friday March 30 by 4pm. To register, visit www.ihrtp.ca.
All participants in Nova ScotiaŐs health research enterprise are invited to join in a discussion with Dr. Jane Aubin, Chief Scientific Officer/Vice-President, Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Dr. Aubin will outline the changes to CIHRŐs Open Suite of Programs and Peer Review Process. This will be your opportunity to address any questions or concerns regarding the proposed changes. Information on the proposed changes can be found on the CIHR website. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by March 21, 2012 to Linda Waterhouse (Linda.Waterhouse@gov.ns.ca).

NSHRF is currently accepting applications to participate in its peer observer program. The program allows observers to sit in on a peer review committee during their deliberation. This is an invaluable experience for researchers who want to improve their grant writing or those who wonder what happens during a peer review process. For more information visit the NSHRF website.
